Booking it yourself, it is worth the risk?
Family holidays are priceless. Booking it yourself, is it worth the risk?
We recently assisted new clients who were travelling from Australia to Europe including Paris.
This family had organised most of their travel arrangement with us but decided for whatever reason to book their accommodation in Paris online. At the time they informed us that they had found this very nice well decorated property right in the middle of the Louvre area and at am amazing price... of course...
At the time of completing their final travel arrangements throughout Europe we casually checked with them on their Paris apartment that they had booked directly on a random website.
It is then that the couple looked at each other with a grim look on their face, ...prior to admitting that they had deposited 500 Euros at the time of the booking only to find out a week ago that they had lost the money to a fake website promoting many individual private rental apartments in Paris.
Fortunately, we were able to take over at this stage to find a suitable property at a similar price and well located in the Marais area.
This is not the first time we had encounter this situation or heard of other Australians being caught out.
