We offer a wide selection of themed itineraries available for whole boat private charters, from child-friendly family itineraries to art cruises through France and Italy.
In addition to all of the themed cruises listed on this page and in our brochure, should a whole boat private charter enquire as to a theme they would like to explore, we will do our best to accommodate this wherever possible.
On one of our walking cruises, you’ll enjoy the best of Burgundy in France with its gorgeous scenery, white Charolais cattle, picturesque hilltop villages and tiny vineyards on the edge of the Morvan Forest.
A walking cruise can be booked any time by a group chartering the barge. If you are booking just one or two cabins and you wish to join other like-minded people then we may have a pre-arranged departure date for this purpose. If our date does not fit in with your plans then we can waitlist your request to see whether anyone else is interested in a walking cruise on that date. If you enjoy walking but wish to also explore other aspects of the region, our classic cruises include ample walking opportunities and the crew has extensive knowledge of the region.
The beauty of hotel barging and walking is that two of the most relaxing holidays possible are merged to give you the best of both worlds. Throughout the season walkers can enjoy some easy hiking – perhaps along with the landscapes in picturesque Burgundy in the Autumn when the colours of the countryside are at their finest.
Golf Cruises
Burgundy, Provence, Loire Valley and other parts of France and Europe have great golf courses such as which should be enough to inspire any keen golfer. Tee times can be arranged so that you have time to play a memorable round of golf and still return to your hotel barge to enjoy a relaxing cruise with superb food and wine. A minimum number of players may be required per barge.
We offer cycling theme cruises on many of our hotel barges. All cycling routes offer a relaxing and interesting cycling experience, with something for every cyclist to enjoy, quaint villages, wonderful scenery and of course, your very own floating luxury hotel to return to each day! Your itinerary will be fully customisable so you can be sure the distances will be right for you.
There is a small supplement to be paid on our cycling cruises which we use to upgrade all bikes onboard and hire a specialist cycling tour guide, an expert in both cycling and the areas you ride through. Your chef will even drive your lunch to a point on your route to prevent you from having to return to the barge to eat.

Biking cruises include daily cycling with a professional cycling guide and an upgrade of bicycles and a no extra charge.
Culinary Cruises
If you are a lover of fine food and particularly how and where locally-grown ingredients are sourced, our culinary cruises in southwest France aboard luxury hotel barge Enchanté will really tickle your taste-buds.
During your cruise along the meandering Canal du Midi, you will have the opportunity to really get to know more about some of the regions’ wonderful products and meet the people behind them.
Highlights of the culinary cruises include a truffle hunting trip in the Minervois hills and, of course, a tasting of the elusive white truffle itself; a visit to a renowned farm that breeds the special Petit Gris variety of escargot; a tour of the L’Oulibo, a long-established olive oil press that produces the purist extra virgin olive oil from the famous Lucques olive.
Other culinary experiences will include a visit to the extraordinary indoor market in Narbonne where you will be invited by the chef to choose the ingredients for that evening’s dinner. And of course, no meal would be complete unless accompanied by some fine wine, so there will also be a visit to one of the area’s finest producers of Minervois A.O.C wines for a winery tour and private tasting.
Couple this with a hands-on French cooking class alongside the Canal du Midi and demonstrations by your onboard chef throughout the cruise and you have a wonderful combination of relaxing cruising and culinary education!
